Privacy Policy

The Solid Billa is a personal blog run by Shreyansh. I want to keep this simple: this site collects as little about you as possible, and I never sell your data or use it for advertising. This page explains the few places where data does change hands.
What I collect
When you use the contact form. If you fill in the contact form, I receive the name, email address, and message you submit. The form is powered by Web3Forms, which passes your message along to my inbox. I use this only to read and reply to you — nothing else.
When you leave a comment. Comments are powered by Giscus, which stores them as discussions on GitHub. To comment you sign in with your GitHub account, so your comment and GitHub username are handled under GitHub's privacy policy. If you never comment, none of this applies to you.
Anonymous analytics. I use Umami (a privacy-first, self-hosted analytics tool) and Vercel Speed Insights to see broad, aggregate numbers — like how many people visited a post and how fast pages loaded. These are cookieless and don't collect personal information or build a profile of you. That's why this site has no cookie banner.
Standard server logs. The site is hosted on Vercel, which, like any web host, may temporarily log basic technical details (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the service running and secure.
How I use it
The only personal data I actively use is what you send through the contact form, and I use it solely to reply to you. I don't run a mailing list, I won't add you to one, and I don't share your details with anyone.
Third-party services
A handful of services help run this site, each with its own privacy policy:
- Web3Forms — delivers contact-form messages.
- GitHub / Giscus — powers comments.
- Umami — privacy-first, self-hosted visitor analytics.
- Vercel — hosting and anonymous performance metrics (Speed Insights).
- Pexels — source of some photos shown on the site.
Your choices
You can ask me to delete any message you've sent through the contact form, or ask what I hold about you, at any time — just email me and I'll take care of it. You can edit or delete your own comments through GitHub.
Children
This site is meant for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13. I don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If the way this site handles data changes, I'll update this page and the "last updated" date above.
