Downloading the standalone APK file gives Morphe the ability to safely unpack, modify, and rebuild it.
3. Patch the App in Morphe: “Patching” means modifying an app’s internal code. Patching allows Morphe to safely remove ads and add features like SponsorBlock directly into the official YouTube APK file right on your device.
4. Install the Modified YouTube App: Install and open your new ad-free YouTube app, packed with extra features.

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Step 1: Install Morphe Manager

We start by getting the patcher engine onto your phone.

1. Open Chrome (or your preferred browser) on your phone and head to the official Morphe homepage at morphe.software (or check their GitHub Releases).
2. Tap the blue Download Morphe button. It downloads the latest morphe-manager-x.x.x.apk.
3. Tap Open or tap the file in your Downloads folder to install it.
4. The “Scary Warning”: Android will pop up a prompt saying: “For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source.”
   Don’t panic. This is standard Android protocol for any file downloaded outside Google Play. Tap Settings, toggle on Allow from this source, and hit the back arrow.
5. Tap Install, and once finished, tap Open.

You’re now looking at the Morphe Manager dashboard. Clean, dark, and simple.

Step 2: Download the Official YouTube APK File

Next, we download the official YouTube setup file from a trusted site called APKMirror. Follow this step carefully so you download the correct file.

1. Inside Morphe Manager, tap the Patcher tab at the bottom, then tap Select an application.
2. Look for YouTube in the list. Underneath YouTube, you will see text that says:
   Suggested: 20.xx.xx (for example, Suggested: 20.14.40). Note down this version number.
3. Do not tap your existing YouTube app on your phone. The YouTube pre-installed on your phone is a protected system app and cannot be patched directly.
4. Instead, tap the download icon next to YouTube in Morphe, or open your browser and go to APKMirror’s YouTube page.
5. Search for YouTube and find the exact version number Morphe suggested.

⚠️ Important Tip for APKMirror:
On APKMirror, you will see multiple download options for the same version.

• Pick the version labeled “APK” (often labeled nodpi).
• Avoid the one that says “BUNDLE” or ends in .apkm. The standalone APK file is the simplest and works every time.
• Also, avoid clicking any advertisement banners that say “Download”. Click the grey or black button that says “Download APK”.

Once the download finishes, leave the file in your Downloads folder. You do not need to open it yet.

Step 3: Patch the YouTube App Inside Morphe

Now we use Morphe Manager to modify the YouTube APK. This is the patching process: Morphe removes the advertising code and adds features like background play directly inside the clean installer file.

1. Open Morphe Manager.
2. Tap Patcher at the bottom, then tap Select an application.
3. Tap the Storage button in the bottom-right corner.
4. Select the YouTube APK file you downloaded from your Downloads folder.
5. Morphe will load the list of patches. The recommended patches (ad blocking, SponsorBlock, background play, and return dislikes) are already selected for you.
   • For most users, leave the default selection as it is.
   • If you are an advanced user, you can tap into the list and select or deselect specific patches.
6. Tap the Patch button in the bottom right.

Wait about 30 to 60 seconds while Morphe processes the file. Once it finishes, you will see a green checkmark and an Install button.

Step 4: Install and Open the Modified YouTube App

1. Tap Install at the bottom right.
2. If Morphe Manager asks for permission to install apps, tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, and go back.
3. Tap Install on the system prompt.
4. Once installation is complete, tap Open.

Your new YouTube app is now installed and ready. If you try to sign in right now, it will prompt you for MicroG, so let’s install that next in Step 5.

Step 5: Install MicroG-RE

Next, install MicroG-RE so your modified YouTube app can sign into your Google account and sync your playlists and history.

1. In your phone’s browser, go to morphe.software/microg.
2. Tap Download MicroG. The file will download as microg-7.x.x.apk.
3. Tap Open or find the file in your Downloads folder.
4. If your browser asks for permission to install apps, tap Settings, turn on Allow from this source, and go back.
5. Tap Install, then tap Done when it finishes.

Step 6: Sign in to Your Google Account

1. Open your newly installed Morphe YouTube app.
2. Tap your profile picture icon in the top-right corner of the app.
3. Tap Sign in -> Add account.
4. The MicroG-RE sign-in screen will appear.
5. Enter your Google email address and password to sign in.

Once you sign in, all your subscriptions, playlists, and watch history will load automatically.

Helpful Settings to Turn On (Optional)

Ad-free playback and background play work immediately out of the box. If you want to enable extra tweaks, tap your Profile Picture -> Settings icon -> Morphe:

• Auto-Skip Sponsor Segments: Go to SponsorBlock, turn it on, and set Sponsor to Automatically Skip.
• Return Dislike Counts: Go to Return YouTube Dislike and turn it on.
• Pure AMOLED Black Theme: Go to Theme and turn on AMOLED Black for true pitch-black backgrounds.

4. Hit Patch and tap Install.
